The business of “meter-sexuality”

Laura McLaughlin

In the past, men have thought in cosmetics as products strictly for women. But today, men's cosmetics are the fastest growing area of the whole beauty industry.
The cosmetic companies have a big reason to love their male customers. Men use up products more quickly than women. So, with profit margins up to 1000%, the cosmetic companies are happy to satisfy men needs.
The enormous success of men's magazines such as GQ and FHM has also helped the appearance of this rising generation... “There is nothing bad in feeling like a girl sometimes, and not even bad is to read about skin-care and diet methods also if journals say so”
There are a number of reasons for this change in male attitude. Young men have more money to spend these days, but the biggest motive is that they are more likely to make their own decision than waiting for their mothers or wives, as they used to do years ago.
Slowly the tendency is catching different markets. Dyestuff to colour grey hair in men chest or anti-wrinkle products are the new opportunities for the older ones.
Perhaps, men’s beauty products are just the same as women’s beauty stuff hidden in an attractive new name and wrapped in manly colours.
