As good as it gets

Freed 40 years ago from communism, independent from Slovakia since 1989 through the Velvet Revolution and recently joined the European Union, bording with Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland, The Czech Republic stands as a lighthouse standard of european culture, with one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world: Prague.
The city of Prague offers a true architectonic party where can be found 9oo years of architecture from the gottic vertical challenge and the exuberance of the baroque to the sensual elegance of the art nouveau and the profiles of cubist façades. Historical castles, palaces, churches, bridges, all kind of museums, monasteries, markets and unique landscapes are scattered all over the area: a labyrinth where is a pleasure to get lost for a while.
Czech people are very creative and artistical. The writer Kafka or the classical music composers Smetana and Dvorak are examples of it, but there are also many painters, sculptors, writers, cinema and theatre directors, puppet show, and all kind of music composers and players. At least a member of a Czech family learns to play an instrument, and you can see them every Sunday when they join together in the parks.

The city of Prague can be divided into the castle district; the tiny city; the old city with the jewish neighbourhood where kafka lived, and its impressive cementery; and the new city. The historic city centre , the castle district and the tiny city situated in the west of Moldavia river, the old city and Wenceslao´s square in the east, and Charles bridge that unites both banks embrace just about 3 kilometres. A wonderful place: the perfect city.

Outstands its imposing leisure offers, good restaurants and popular places with good atmosphere to taste the worldwide famous Czech beers. Very close to the city there are a dozen medieval castles and some baroque mansions for daily excursions. On the other hand, there is a cinema festival in Karlovy Vary, two hours from Prague by bus, during the month of July. Can you get anymore?
