| José L. Hernández The solution is the self-determination
Self-determination is an international law principle that says that people ought to be able to determine their own governmental forms and structure free from external influence. The self-determination is a right of the people around the world, recognized by the ONU and other international organisms and, mainly, it consist in a determination by the people of a territorial unit of their own future political status. This would be a great and simple solution to the mayority of the conflicts and wars in the world, not only in the Western Sáhara, but in the Kurdistan, Iraq, Sry-Lanka, North Ireland, Euskadi... Recently Easter Timor reached its independence after a process of self-determination and nowadays, after many years of war, the Easter Timor people live in peace. The Saharawi People are fighting since 1975 to reach this right and they are confident that peace will come at Wester Sahara after a referendum of self-determination and then they would be a free nation. Of course that the Spanish government should had organized this referendum 30 years ago, before they sold this country to Mauritania and Morocco. As all of you know, the Wester Sahara was a Spanish colony until 1975. On the other hand, Spain is the second supplier of weapons to Morocco and this country use them against the Saharawi People. This is the official spanish solidarity with their old colony!! A lot of people in the world hope, sooner that later, to see a free Western Sahara. Sahara will win!!
