John Eastham was born in Lancashire, England in 1960. He came to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain, in 1986 as English reader at the University, and became involved in the cultural life of the city, while honing his skills as translator, interpreter and communicator.

A committed freelancer, he has a list of clients in Galicia, Spain and the UK, where he also worked on several projects as interpreter for the film industry.

He was awarded an MA in English Literature by the University of Cambridge in 1986.
