- HISTORY
La Provincia de Jaén, en Andalucía, (España), es conocida con el nombre de
“El Santo Reino”. El Cristianismo llegó a estas tierra predicado por San
Eufrasio, primer obispo de la diócesis en el siglo I. Fruto de esta labor,
la fe había arraigado y con ella la vida monástica. En la Villa de El
Mármol se encuentra uno de los cenobios más antiguos de Europa: el
Monasterio de Valdecanales. Tras la dominación musulmana en los siglos IX
al XIII, el Rey San Fernando, cuyas reliquias se conservan incorruptas en
la Catedral de Sevilla, incorpora la Villa de Él Mármol a la corona de Castilla,
restableciendo el cristianismo y haciendo donación del lugar a Fray
Domingo de Soria, Obispo de Jaén. El culto a Jesús Crucificado, como
Redentor del mundo, se establece en la Villa de El Mármol,
representado en una talla gótica tardía (S. XIV-XV) que se destruyó en
1936. El nombre de Cristo de las Aguas tiene relación directa con el
lugar, muy rico en manantiales, así como con el Agua que brotó del
costado de Jesucristo, al ser atravesado con una lanza en la Cruz. Igual
que el agua es fuente y necesidad para la vida, el Agua del costado de
Cristo nos lava espiritualmente, como el bautismo nos lava de toda
iniquidad del pecado original.
Con posterioridad a su destrucción en 1936,
la Villa encarga al escultor Amadeo Ruiz Olmos una réplica de la
desaparecida, que hoy se venera en la Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora
de la Paz, Santuario que acoge al Santísimo Cristo de la Aguas, cuya
fiesta se celebra el segundo domingo de Septiembre. LA

Edificada en el Siglo XVI, sobre otra gótica
anterior de la que se conserva el arranque de unos pilares, está dedicada
a la Virgen María, bajo la advocación de Nuestra Señora de la Paz. Es fábrica
renacentista con retablo en la Capilla Mayor realizado en estuco
policromado. LA

Cristo muerto sobre Cruz arbórea, con la cabeza
inclinada en sentido opuesto a su corazón, con el pecho traspasado por la
herida causada por la lanza y derramando gotas de sangre y agua. Es un
Cristo moreno, pues la primitiva imagen acumuló la pátina de numeroso
cirios: al encargar la réplica, una vez destruida la primera escultura,
se debió considerar el respetar en su encarnadura la huella del paso del
tiempo y de la devoción. Obra de Amadeo Ruiz Olmos (1940). ESPIRITUALIDAD
- SPIRITUALITY
Jesucristo, al morir en la Cruz, demuestra a la
humanidad y a la historia que la mansedumbre, el perdón y el amor son más
grandes que cualquier agravio, cualquier dolor e incluso superan la
realidad trágica de la muerte. Al contemplar la imagen del Santísimo
Cristo de las Aguas, consideramos lo que Cristo revela a Santa María
Elena Faustina Kowalska y que queda definido en el Rosario de la Divina
Misericordia: “POR TU DOLOROSA PASIÓN, TEN MISERICORDIA DE NOSOTROS Y
DE EL MUNDO ENTERO”.
Si el agua del Bautismo nos limpia del pecado
original, semilla de maldad impresa en el corazón humano, San Ignacio de
Loyola nos presenta una hermosa y delicada aspiración: AGUA DEL COSTADO
DE CRISTO, LÁVANOS.
La limpia hermosura del Santísimo Cristo de
las Aguas nos habla del ofrecimiento y expiación de Dios por nosotros. El
agua del costado de Cristo nos calma la sed de amor, verdad, paz, belleza
y eternidad a la que todo ser humano aspira, anticipando su contemplación
el encuentro maravilloso que es recibir a Cristo mismo, Redentor y abismo
de Misericordia, en el Sacramento Eucarístico.
PEREGRINACIÓN
- PILGRIMAGES
Peregrinar es una metáfora de la propia existencia.
En la vida somos peregrinos, caminantes que andamos hacia el futuro, a
veces sin saber bien por dónde vamos, en otras
ocasiones equivocando los
pasos, otras veces sufriendo los inconvenientes del camino y siempre
debiendo intentar aprender de lo que vemos,
sabiendo descubrir la hermosura de lo
que encontramos.
La actitud de viajar al Santuario
ofrece la posibilidad de comprender cómo en la medida en que físicamente
nos acercamos al Templo, nuestra vida se convierte, alentada por el Espíritu
Santo, instruida por la Palabra de Dios y el magisterio de la Iglesia,
llenándose el alma y el cuerpo de gozo por la reconciliación, la
veneración, culto y meditación ante la Imagen del Santísimo Cristo de
las Aguas, todo ello para concluir en el encuentro real con Dios mediante
el Sacramento de la Eucaristía. Los Paisajes de la Villa de El Mármol, la explanada de la Parroquia y Santuario del Santísimo Cristo de las Aguas son lugares de gran belleza donde el alma se prepara al misterio silencioso del encuentro con Dios: no en vano uno de los más grandes místicos de la historia de la Iglesia pasó en el siglo XVII por la Villa, muy enfermo, yendo a morir al Carmelo de la cercana Úbeda: San Juan de la Cruz.

- HISTORY
The Province of Jaén, in Andalusia, (Spain), is
known with the name of “THE HOLY KINGDOM”.
The Christianity arrived at these earth preached by San Eufrasio,

In the Villa de El Mármol
is one of the oldest monasteries of Europe:

After his destruction in 1936, Villa orders to the escultor Amadeo
Ruiz Elm trees an retort of the disappear, that today venerates in the
Parochial Church of Our Mrs. of La Paz, Sanctuary that welcomes in the
Santísimo Christ of the Waters, whose celebration is celebrated the
second Sunday of September.
THE
PARISH, SRHINE OF THE MOST HOLY CHRIST OF THE WATERS
Built
in the Century XVI, on another gothic previous one of which the starting

HAVE MERCY OF US AND THE WORLD. If
the water of the Baptism free to us from the original sin, seed of badness
printed in the human heart, San Ignacio de Loyola presents/displays a
beautiful and delicate aspiration to us:
WATER OF THE FLANK DE CHRIST, LÁVANOS.
The clean hermosura of the Santísimo Christ of Waters speaks of
the offer and expiación to us of God by us.
The water of the flank of Christ calms the thirst of love, right,
peace, beauty and eternity to which all human being aspires, anticipating
its contemplation the wonderful encounter who is to receive same Christ,
Redentor and abyss of Mercy, in the Eucarístico Sacrament.

Peregrinar

the life we are travelling, travellers who we walked towards the future,

steps well, other times suffering the disadvantages of the way and always

becomes, encouraged by the Spirit Santo, instructed by the Word of God and
the teaching of the Church, filling the soul and the body of joy by the
reconciliation, the veneration, cult and meditation before the Image of
the Santísimo Christ of Waters, all it stops to conclude in the real
encounter with God by means of the Sacrament of the Eucaristía.
The Landscapes of Villa of the Marble, the esplanade of the Parish
and Sanctuary of the Santísimo Christ of Waters are places of great
beauty where the soul is prepared to the quiet mystery of the encounter
with God: not in vain one of
the greatest mystics of the history of the Church happened in century XVII
