BEGINS YEAR GRACIANO.
8 of January of 1601, Are born in
Belmonte, Balthasar Gracián Morales.
Gracián
is considered like the main and more influential writer of century XVII.
As well as the more universal Aragonese author.
Aragón

Spanish didactic work author, who forms with Francisco de Quevedo the most

was born in Belmonte
de Gracián (Zaragoza), where still the familiar house and the
baptismal battery are conserved (church of century XVII) where was baptized.
He studied in Toledo and he made the votes like jesuita in 1635. He taught
in schools of Calatayud, Zaragoza and Tarragona and enjoyed fame like preacher
in Madrid. He underwent admonition of his superior ones to publish without
license on worldly subjects, and he prohibited himself him to do it. The
third volume of criticón (1655) insisted on its revolt when publishing,
reason why they kidnapped the papers to him and it prohibited itself him
to write of taxativo way. Hurt, he requested license to happen to another
order, but however they trusted important positions to him the school of
Tarazona (Zaragoza) where died.
