JACK LEMMON

Jack Lemmon, un dels actors més representatius i carismàtics de la història del cinema, va morir el passat dimecres 27 de juny a l'edat de 76 anys. L'actor estava ingressat a l'hospital USC/Norris de Los Angeles i va morir a causa d'un càncer.

La mort de Lemmon es produeix just un any després de la desaparició de Walter Matthau, l'inseparable amic a la vida real i parella còmica de Lemmon a la pantalla en sis ocasions.

L'intèrpret, nascut el 8 de febrer de 1925 a Boston (EUA), va guanyar l'Oscar al Millor actor el 1973 per "Salveu el tigre" i l'Oscar al Millor Actor Secundari el 1955 per "Escala a Hawaïi". A més, Lemmon es va endur el guardó de Millor Actor al Festival de Cinema de Cannes en dues ocasions: el 1979 per "La síndrome de Xina" i el 1982 per "Desaparegut".

Tot i els seus papers més premiats, Jack Lemmon serà sempre recordat pels seus papers memorables tant en comèdies com "Ningú no és perfecte" (amb Marilyn Monroe i Tony Curtis), "L'apartament", "Irma la Dolça" (ambdues amb Shirley McLaine) i "L'estranya parella" (amb el seu amic inseparable Walter Matthau), com en drames com "Días de vino y rosas" (amb Lee Remick).
